Teacher Appreciation Gifts
Customized Goodies Your Teacher will LOVE!
Whether it’s teacher appreciation week, holiday time, or just a random offering to say “Thank You”, it’s always a good time to send in a little something for your child’s teacher. Gifts of gratitude don’t need to be fancy or expensive, but they do need to be thoughtful. Pulling from items you likely have around the house, this teacher appreciation gift will help stock the classroom, offer a fun activity for your little one, AND help you clear out all those baubles and bits you have lying around your home. Here’s a step by step guide on how make the easiest teacher appreciation gift you’ll ever see. (BONUS – You won’t need to make a trip to the store!)
Pull together an inexpensive DIY and make it look LUXE
- First, you’ll need to go on a scavenger hunt! This gift will be comprised of all the little things a teacher may need throughout the year for miscellaneous projects, crafts or science experiments. In my experience, these are things teachers can never have too much of, particularly in Elementary School. So, get your little one(s) and get to hunting around the house. You might be surprised how much you find. Here are some of the items we’ve assembled. We’ve included cardboard tubes, small boxes, clothespins, string, Popsicle sticks, marbles, fabric scraps, Q-tips, rubber bands and pipe cleaners. Other ideas might include miscellaneous tupperware lids, small paper plates, masking tape, scotch tape, aluminum foil, egg cartons, plastic containers (yogurt, margarine, deli meat), straws, coffee stirrers, balloons, binder clips cupcake liners, packing peanuts, or twisty ties.
- The next step is to package everything up. If you have similar ziplock bags or containers, it helps to pull your teacher appreciation gift into a lovely package that’s easy on the eyes. We like to use bags for jewelry. You can get them here online or at your local craft store. If you don’t have multiple size bags available, just go for snack or sandwich bags that are readily available at your grocery store.
- Next, just add a Label! This is the most important part when pulling your teacher appreciation gift together. This is the step that takes your package from looking like a jumble of random items to looking like a refined gift basket of odds and ends. DON’T skip this step. Especially when customized labels are SO easy when working with iCustomLabel. The school at which our teacher works has themed school years, and this year’s theme is ALL HANDS ON DECK! So, we went with a fitting pirate themed label for Mrs. Steyer. Who doesn’t love a treasure chest of fun loot!?
- Lastly, all you have to do is assemble and give it to your favorite teacher. Don’t forget to include a noteworthy thank you card, just to let them know what an amazing teacher they are!
